| Cristina Perez Gonzalez

An accomplished lawyer, television personality, radio
host, business owner, community leader, columnist, and wife and a
mother, Cristina Perez is a multi-faceted woman of the ages.
Cristina’s success is firmly based on her
belief in the importance of family and culture. The daughter of
Colombian parents, Cristina
was born in the United States. She lived in New York City, to another
big city of Guadalajara, Mexico, to the border town of San Ysidro,
to Hartford, Connecticut, and then to California, which she has called
home for over twenty years.
Cristina was exposed to all walks of life, cultures, and differing
problems facing each community. She watched her parents struggle
with racism, finances, and adapting to the U.S. culture with a foreign
language and traditions. Today, she and her family are living an
American dream.
Building on her layered and well-rounded background,
Cristina became the enormously popular host of the Spanish language
television program “La
Corte de Familia” (Family Court) which aired nationally and
internationally in fifteen countries on the Telemundo Television
Network/NBC, Inc. The show re-enacted the courtroom drama of family
law related claims. With a strong but just hand, Cristina provided
a Latin flavor to the show which made it one of the highest rated
Spanish language programs in the United States. Cristina was the
first female Judge-Actress to air on a nationally syndicated Spanish
network series.
The show appealed to viewers of all ages by celebrating the strength
of the Latino culture and the importance of family. It also reminded
viewers that people should not forfeit their culture and the great
lessons learned from their ancestors. On the contrary, reliance on
these great lessons is a key ingredient for success in life. Cristina
utilized her television show to highlight issues that affect the
Latino community and to raise the consciousness of the Latino community.
For over a decade, Cristina has dedicated herself to serving her
community and is a prominent and successful attorney specializing
in immigration and nationality law. She founded Perez Gonzalez, A
Professional Law Corporation, where she focuses on assisting foreign
professionals in the entertainment, athletic, technology, business,
and investment fields. Her clientele includes high profile professional
athletes, entertainers, business and corporate executives.
Armed with the life changing lessons learned from her immigrant
parents, Cristina is a leader in the community and is committed to
community awareness working to make a difference in her community
at every scale. She is an active member and leader of several community
and legal organizations, including Padres Contra El Cancer (Parents
Against Cancer), the American Immigration Lawyer's Association, the
American Immigration Law Foundation, the Mexican American Bar Association.
Cristina frequently speaks at events around the
country on topics such as immigration law, business, women and
community empowerment,
and women’s health. She is frequently featured on radio and
television. Cristina serves as a weekly Immigration Attorney Co-Host
on Radio UNIVISION in Los Angeles, California.
Cristina was recently selected as a “Woman of the Year” for
the state of California for her community activities and was named
one of America’s Top 10 “Latina Advocates,” for
making the world a better place for women and Latino’s rights
by the national magazine LATINO LEADERS (National Magazine of the
Successful American Latino).
Overall, Cristina has worked to make a difference in her community
unknowingly breaking through the stereotypes and misconceptions of
what a Latina is or should be. As an attorney, a community activist
and the star of a popular television show, Cristina is a powerful
role model for young women in our community and particularly for
Latinas.
Cristina received a Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law and two
Bachelors of Arts degrees from UCLA. She is married to Christopher
Gonzalez, who is also her partner at Perez Gonzalez, and has a daughter,
Sofia Daniella. Naturally, Cristina is bilingual in Spanish and English.

credits her family’s example and desire to remain close to
her heritage and culture for all of her personal and professional
achievements.
